Hot Teams to Watch
Rockford: After dominating Caledonia, the Rams went to face off against Grand Rapids Catholic Central , winning a tight matchup 48-42 to improve to 3-0. The 2024-25 district champions will look to dominate this year after getting upset in the first game of regionals last season.
Brother Rice: The Warriors are off to a very hot start, going 4-0 in their first four games and dominating Warren De La Salle 91-55 and U-D 71-42. They will take on River Rouge in the first game of the Chris Webber annual tournament on Saturday, looking to continue their hot streak.
East Lansing: After three straight wins by double-digits to open up the year, East Lansing is looking to defend their DI championship last season, and will continue their season against Detroit Martin Luther King on Saturday night, before facing Grand Ledge later next week.
Grand Rapids Catholic Central: After a tough loss to arguably the best team in the state, GRCC looks to fend off more tough opponents in Grand Rapids Northview, East Grand Rapids, and Grand Rapids South Christian later this week.Â
Kalamazoo Central: A narrow 47-46 win over crosstown rival Portage Central set KC up for massive wins over St. Joseph (73-44) and Richland Gull Lake (78-34). The Giants are looking for their first trip to Breslin since 2011.
