The Michigan Basketball Team That Can’t Be Beat

East Lansing’s star guard nearly dropped 40 in a recent win, and they keep winning by double digits

Hottest Teams Right Now

  1. East Lansing: 16-0. Last three wins all by 20+ points. Need I say more? Oh, and in their win over Rockford KJ Torbert dropped 39 points, including eight in overtime to propel the Trojans over the Rams. This team might be unstoppable.
  2. Rockford: After two tough losses to East Lansing and East Kentwood, the Rams have won four straight and will be looking to avenge their loss to East Kentwood on Tuesday as playoffs loom. Brothers Jake and Josh Bascom led the Rams with 14 points each in their most recent win against Grand Rapids Northview at Grand Rapids Community College last weekend.
  3. East Kentwood: After a one-point loss to Warren Fitzgerald at the beginning of the season, the Eagles have won 12 straight, led by 6-foot-10 power forward Andrew Kenyi who’s averaged 14 points over their last three games. The Eagles look to continue their hot streak after knocking off Hudsonville and Grand Haven by heavy margins in their last two games.

Play of the Week

Lakeview’s Ethan Trombley chucks up a three from way beyond the arc to hit a buzzer beater winner to beat Port Huron 51-49.

Upcoming Game to Watch:

2/7: Muskegon (11-1) vs Lansing Waverly (11-2). A top-10 matchup as Waverly looks to keep an eight-game win streak alive, while Muskegon looks to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the year to Kalamazoo Central.
