Shri’s Impeachment Vaudeville Has Been a Big Flop

The congressman’s “Impeachment Town Hall” last weekend had only 27 attendees and less excitement than an AA meeting

Lincoln Park — Congressman Shri Thanedar doesn’t like DOGE. He doesn’t like deportations. And he really doesn’t like President Trump.

And so, last month, our diminutive Detroit Democrat introduced seven articles of impeachment against the president.

Thanedar accuses Trump of high crimes and misdemeanors, including obstruction of justice, abuse of power, and violations of the constitution.

Specifically: Thanedar claims Trump ignored the Supreme Court when it ruled that the president must try and facilitate the re-importation of Salvadoran gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia so that he might be re-deported properly. Also, that Trump is illegally cutting government waste through the Department of Government Efficiency, and that the Associated Press must be allowed back into the White House press briefings, even if it refuses to call it the “Gulf of America.”

Trump supporters accuse Thanedar of staging political vaudeville in a ruse to raise money for his floundering campaign committee, which is $11 million in debt to Thanedar himself.

We caught up with Thanedar at his “Impeachment Town Hall” last weekend to set the record straight. There were 27 attendees, including the congressman, his staff, two cops, a janitor, a grandbaby, my cameraman, and me.

Suffice it to say, I’ve seen more excitement at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
