Resurfaced rap lyrics on the mixtape of a Democrat running for the Michigan House tell us everything we need to know about the blue team. Do the Democrats harbor a legitimate love and concern for the gay and lesbian community? Or do they use those affiliations as a stick to beat others with?
We will soon see.
State Rep. Jason Morgan (D-Ann Arbor), this is a good time to find your fainting couch.
Last month, after Morgan tweeted a picture of the Michigan Democratic delegation at the Democratic National Convention, Meshawn Maddock, former co-chair of the Michigan Republican Party, captioned it: “Fags and hags.”
This inspired the predictable outrage from the Democrat-media alliance. Any Democrat who could find a news camera bleated in unison that Maddock had caused great harm.
Morgan claimed he was fine, personally, but concerned for the “countless LGBTQ young people across the USA,” who can apparently be driven to “depression and suicide” by mean tweets.
“Republicans are dangerous to gay people,” Morgan told PrideSource, using a supposed teachable moment to instead malign millions of people for political gain.
If mean rap lyrics hold the same power as a three-word tweet, Morgan might want to talk to his fellow Democratic candidate, Daniel Mahoney. Or as he was once called, “B-Face Mahoney.”
His mixtape includes the song “We In This Bitch,” which includes the lyrics: “I got mega swag, all these n****s make ’em mad / You, you, you are so emotional, you n****s mega fags.”
I’m an Eminem fan, and I even blushed at that one. How uncouth! How many suicides could be attributed to these hateful lyrics? I call on Attorney General Dana Nessel to launch a full investigation.
Mahoney called the Enjoyer to say that the “fags” lyric belonged to someone else on the song, not himself.
Mahoney, the current mayor of Jackson, is running for a Jackson-area seat against Republican Kathy Schmaltz, the incumbent. Fortunately for Mahoney, there are probably too many real problems in Jackson for rap lyrics to be held against him.
Mahoney’s “What You Thinkin” also seems to include unforgivable lyrics about rape, which he says are actually about his relationship with his wife.
Mahoney raps: “Bend you over the bar stool, give you the business / Used to do you after school like homework, check the penmanship / Now we on the table like food in the kitchen / Promise to hold it back, pretend you gave me permission.”
Morgan, the man who would protect the gays from those who tweet meanly about them, has campaigned in person for Mahoney and donated $500 to his campaign through the Morgan Victory Fund, campaign finance records show. Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist’s Stand Tall PAC donated $2,000 to Mahoney. Whitmer’s Building Bridges PAC donated $2,500.
During the campaign season, the problematic Mahoney has gotten pictures with Morgan, with Whitmer, and with State Rep. Carrie Rheingans, another Ann Arbor Democrat. (How many state reps does Ann Arbor get?)
Are Michigan Democrats defenders of the LGBT? Or are they nihilists who will use any entry of attack on their opponents? Is their outrage real or just virtue signaling?
