Democrats Can't Stop Socialists From Eating Them Alive
Michigan Democrats have been calling me to complain about the extremist takeover they've nurtured for years
Within the last two weeks, I’ve had ongoing discussions with three high-profile Democrats, including a sitting member of U.S. Congress, another from the Michigan Legislature, and a third person who—let’s just say—works on a sixth floor in Lansing.
The topic? This new progressive illiberalism that has attached itself like a parasite to the nearest host—The Democratic Party—and the devouring has begun.
With extreme progressive Democratic Socialists of America candidates running the table at the Michigan Democrat Party’s Nomination Convention, the eating of the party has shifted to various congressional primaries and the race to Michigan’s vacant senate seat.
My takeaway from those conversations isn’t what’s being said behind closed doors, but rather why they are afraid to confront it openly. Why are Michigan Democrats afraid to speak against this pernicious radicalism seeking to destroy their party?
Because Dems are—and always have been—weak and feckless. The party itself, much like the GOP in 2016, bent the knee to populism, and lacking any principles, decided over a decade ago to “feed the wolf” hoping to distract it, except now it’s biting them back.
Democrats have struggled with keeping their house in order, and instead of kicking out the radicals, they’ve allowed themselves to be pulled farther and father left over the last decade.
But the story behind the story is one of conversion, with a heavy embrace of Islamification, seemingly new to the socialist movement.

Almost every DSA-endorsed or adjacent Democrat has embraced some form or another of the notion that the Jews are running D.C. on behalf of foreign influence (Israel).
Almost all such candidates carry water for the Palestinian cause—Queers for Palestine being one the strangest vanguards in recent memory, given the widely known antagonism Hamas-backed Muslims have for the LGBT community.
Abdul El-Sayed’s senate candidacy is supported by a larger national political machine that has effectively unlocked social media with Pro-Palestine propaganda infused with an alarming level of casual antisemitism.
It’s so effective, other Michigan Democrats like Sen. Elissa Slotkin, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and attorney general Dana Nessel have no choice but to placate it, ignore it, or pretend it’s not happening.
Democrats like former senate candidate Mallory McMorrow, who attempted to thread a needle between moderate Democrats and the radical progressives, have ended up losing their asses.
State Rep. Donavan McKinney, currently primarying fellow Democrat Shri Thanedar in Michigan’s 13th Congressional district, was previously considered a “normie” Democrat.

A darling of Whitmer, she once appointed him to her council for environmental justice. Around late 2023, McKinney switched gears and began chasing progressive voters.
His campaign website now parrots DSA talking points and Palestinian propaganda, including support for UNRWA, which has reportedly helped Hamas during the Israeli-Gaza War.
The DSA brand of progressivism sweeping the nation and attempting to gain control of Michigan Democrat party politics is a movement intently focused on capturing young impressionable voters.
Democrats who’ve long embraced emotionally charged political messaging must now grapple with new voters who absolutely hate them.
At the root is an unacknowledged dislike Democrats have for their own working class voters, and an inability to communicate directly to them.
Speaking out, unscripted, about real issues is the moon for these politicians who prefer separation from the unwashed masses they seek to represent.
That distance is so great they were unable to recognize discontent and identify a populist uprising, hence the reason they were caught off guard by the chaos of their nominating convention.
Young, angry, entitled, college educated voters are embracing a hatred for America and nihilism for Western liberal values. Democrats made their own bed, and now the rest of us might get stuck sleeping in it.
Thanks a lot, assholes.
