Since Kristen McDonald Rivet was elected in 2024 to represent Michigan’s 8th congressional district, she has come out as a radical, pro-illegal immigrant, pro-crime, anti-woman vote in congress.
McDonald Rivet recently spoke at a Midland vigil where she lamented the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement efforts and budget. She said: “What is happening in our country is not justice. We are seeing our people who are taken on sidewalks without a conversation.”
It seems as though she is more concerned about the illegal immigrants in her former state Senate district than she is about struggling Michiganders. Video from the event shows her speaking in front of signs that say “F**K ICE.”
McDonald Rivet has a history of using anti-law enforcement rhetoric and receiving donations from defund the police organizations, including:
- A $21,000 campaign donation for the George Soros-affiliated PAC for America’s Future.
- An endorsement from the group Reproductive Freedom for All, formerly called NARAL, which noted in 2023 that it “supports the demands of the Movement for Black Lives, including defunding the police and investing in Black communities, which are a response to hundreds of years of systemic oppression and the failure of reforms to address urgent needs and injustices.”
- An endorsement from Planned Parenthood Action Fund, which has stated it “stands with the Movement for Black Lives’ call to defund the police.”
Fortunately, a candidate has emerged to challenge McDonald Rivet in 2026. Veteran Amir Hassan is committed to securing borders, safeguarding our streets, and combating drug trafficking.

He has a strong history of supporting law enforcement and keeping the cities of Flint, Bay City, and Saginaw safe in partnership with the Trump administration as a federal law enforcement agent.
And unlike McDonald Rivet, Hassan is committed to keeping men out of women’s sports and bathrooms.
Michigan’s 8th Congressional District has a choice this fall—they can choose a career politician with a strong history of defunding the police, or vote for a veteran, patriot, and father.
It’s about time voters had representation in Congress with a commitment to the people of Michigan, American citizens, and women.
