East Kentwood senior and MSU Commit QB Kayd Coffman was the star of the show in their Division I district final, throwing for 372 yards, running for 96 yards, and scoring five touchdowns in a 49-41 win over Howell on Saturday.

Marching to Ford Field 

No. 7 Clarkston took down No. 4 Grand Blanc 44-22 in the Division I District IV final, ending Grand Blanc’s undefeated season. Clarkston will face Detroit Catholic Central in the regional final. 

No. 1 Cass Tech annihilated No. 24 Fordson 48-8, advancing to face Tommy Carr and the Saline Hornets next weekend. 

No. 3 Hudsonville continued their undefeated season with a high-scoring 42-31 win over Rockford. 

Upcoming Playoff Matchups to Watch 

No. 2 Detroit Catholic Central faces off against No. 7 Clarkston in a regional final matchup on Friday the first time the two will face off in the state playoffs since 2017 when Clarkston beat them to advance to the state championship 27-7.

No. 3 Hudsonville will take on QB Coffman and No. 10 East Kentwood in the Region 1 final, where Kentwood will look to avenge a 25-23 loss to Hudsonville in the first round of last year’s state tournament.
